SAMPLE CVs
  • It will almost certainly be a SINGLE A4 page
  • It must have no language or punctuation errors.
  • If in a foreign language, it MUST be proofread by a competent native-speaker.
  • It must be clear, logical, unfussy and consistent in layout.
  • It must have no gaps in the timeline.
  • Full sentences are not needed except in an introductory statement.
  • It should quote referees if possible.
  • With a PHOTO? Opinions differ. I personally would put one, but some advise not.
  • Some originality would not go amiss: something to make it stand out from the others - but nothing too zany .....
  • Most professionals advice that you neeed a PERSONAL STATEMENT giving a brief
    self-profile and stating your career objectives, Study the examples.

The bottom line? If it doesn't conform to these guidelines there is
a good chance it will be thrown straight in the bin without being read.
