Do's & Dont's
1) SALT & SUGAR DON'T ADD THESE to foods. There is enough of both occurring naturally in a good diet. Processed sugar and salt are RECENT FOODS in evolutionary terms: WE DID NOT EVOLVE TO EAT THEM.
AVOID products with either added (which is a HUGE number of products!). One is used to them, but THEY ARE NOT NECESSARY for a tasty and healthy diet.
2) PROCESSED FOODS .... are in general not as good as (and often FAR WORSE THAN) natural foods. There is no need to eat pizzas, pies, cakes and a multitude of other processed products.
3) FRYING Almost everything can be poached, boiled, grilled or microwaved. The ONLY things I fry are MUSHROOMS and occasionally an egg, which I mostly eat hard-boiled. And IF one must fry, use VIRGIN OLIVE OIL only.
4) BOILING VEGETABLES DON'T OVERCOOK: they should still be a bit CRISP and CRUNCHY when removed from the water.
5) TINNED FOOD In general this is not as healthy as fresh food, but if you must eat from a tin then WASH THE CONTENTS BEFORE EATING. A tin may have added ingredients and preservatives which are basically unhealthy.

The METAL may also contaminate the contents of a tin. This is ESPECIALLY the case for tomato puree, which is ALWAYS BETTER bought in a glass jar.
