The peel IS on the other hand VERY nutritious and ideal for mixing in smoothies and cakes. |

DO NOT strip off the threads on the surface of the banana itself as they contain a LOT of nutritious elements. |

DO NOT eat a banana on its OWN or with anything else sugary as they are high in NATURAL sugar and that can lead to a blood-sugar spike which is not good. Ideally eat with yogurt or in a rye bread sandwich or some such. |

ONE banana a day gives plenty of sugar and potassium. TWO should be the maximum as excessive potassium is BAD. |

DO NOT EAT a banana when the peel is GREEN. A few brownish spots are fine, but eating them when TOO ripe is ALSO bad even if they are still more or less edible. |
