a special meaning:

= very much
hardly
= almost not / very little

= very much (evaluation)

after: be/become/get/look/seem etc

The adjective describes the SUBJECT not the VERB ...

  • He was excited.
  • He looked angry.
  • She became agressive.
  • The tea tasted awful.
